KEYNOTE SPEECH BY DR. ASFA-WOSSEN ASSERATE: AFRICA WHERE TO GO- POLITICS, ECONOMY AND MIGRATION
Dr. Asfa-Wossen Asserate is an Ethiopian-German consultant, political analyst, and author. He was born into Ethiopia's royal family in 1948 and is the great-nephew of Emperor Haile Selassie. Although raised in Ethiopia, he fled the country due to political turmoil. He eventually moved to Germany to start anew. He is celebrated for his publications on African and Ethiopian politics, history, and culture. One example is his bestselling book "Manieren," which delves into European and predominantly German customs. Asserate has also held several consultancy positions and delivered speeches on timely topics such as globalization, international relations, and Africa. His perspective combines analytical commentary, historical context, and personal observation.
After the speech, there will be a joint à la carte dinner at the attendees' own cost in the Wirtschaftsclub restaurant.
This event is open to Harvard Club members. A separate invitation will be sent out in due course.
